37,062 candidates shortlisted for 6000 police slots
A total of 37,062 candidates have been shortlisted for 6000 positions in the Nigeria Police Force.
It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had given a directive for the recruitment of more personnel for the force in the wake of increased insecurity in the country.
Mr. Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations in the Commission stated this yesterday in Abuja.
According to Ani, a total of 133,324 applicants had earlier been shortlisted for only 6000 slots.
Computer Based Tests is set to be conducted across the country on Friday, where successful applicants will be determined.
Accordingly, Ani said successful candidates from the screening exercise had been contacted through sms and e-mails to attend the computer based examination in various centres.
Electronic devices such as spy eye glasses, telephone hand set, calculator, wrist watches and camera are prohibited during the exams.
“The Commission will not tolerate any attempt to subvert this national assignment by anybody no matter how highly placed,’ Ani stressed.
