Benue cops killers arrested

The police in Benue state says it has arrested 17 people believed to be connected to the killings of some travellers in Gboko and some mobile policemen in different areas of Benue State.
Joshak Habila, the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of operations while parading the suspects at the Police headquarters in Makurdi said six of the arrested men were being linked to the killing of several policemen in separate incidents across the state.
“I don’t want to brand those arrested as either herders or farmers. All I know is that a criminal is a criminal and there is no other name for criminality,” he said.
He commended the security agencies for their reactiveness and promised a good security relationship with the Nigerian army that had just deployed troops to the state.
