Lagosians Imprisoned For 5 Months For Illegal Dumping Of Refuse
33 occupants of Lagos State were on Thursday brought before the Samuel Ilorin Magistrate’s Court, Ogba and therefore condemned to various terms of detainment and group benefit for disregarding the state Environmental Sanitation Laws 2017.
It was assembled that the guilty parties were captured by agents of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) on Tuesday, January 30, around Ikeja, Iyana-Ipaja, Mushin and Iyana-Isolo zones, among others, for illicit road hawking, unpredictable dumping of decline and unlawful intersection of the roadways.
The Magistrate, Ogundare Olayiwola, was said to have condemned each of the blamed on one mean unpredictable dumping of decline to five months’ detainment, with an alternative of N20,000 fine.
“Those charged on one check of illicit road exchanging were condemned to five months’ detainment, with a choice of N20,000 fine.
“Those on one tally of illicit intersection of parkways were condemned to five hours’ group benefit, with a choice of N10,000 fine,” the Head of the Public Affairs Unit, LAGESC, Alabi Rahmat, included an announcement.
In the announcement, the Executive Secretary, LAGESC, Mrs. Idowu Mohammed, focused on that the office would not yield in capturing ecological defaulters in accordance with the state government approach of cleaning the earth.
She urged Lagosians to dependably comply with the laws of the state to their greatest advantage.
