Minimum Wage Update:36 State Governors Reach Consensus Of N22,500
The governors of the 36 states of Nigeria have settled for N22,500 as the new minimum wage they would be able to pay to workers.
The new minimum wage was agreed upon at a three-hour meeting of all the governors under the auspices of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF. The meeting took place in Abuja yesterday, October 30.
The minimum wage currently stands at N18, 500. The Nigerian Labour Congress has proposed N30, 000 while the FG figure is N24,000.
