Please don’t leave PDP, Odeyemi begs Fayose
The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Diran Odeyemi has advised the Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose not to dump the PDP.
Odeyemi stated this while responding to Fayose’s threat that he may dump the PDP soon. According to our findings, Fayose wanted Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State to clinch the PDP presidential tickets and there were even rumors that Tambuwal would consider him as his running mate if he wins the ticket.
But most party leaders went against the directive of Fayose and that of the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike who were hell-bent on making Tambuwal the party presidential flag bearer and overwhelmingly voted for former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar.
Speaking to newsmen, Odeyemi advised Fayose to stay put in the PDP and help the party to reclaim the control of the Federal government in 2019
“We appeal to him not to leave the party, he has been an asset and he has benefited from the party. Even when he left, he still came back to the party, so he should consider all that and not abandon the party when we need him most. He should consider the fact that all those who left the PDP for other parties regretted that they left.
“He should not leave now that the likes of Atiku, Bukola Saraki, Aminu Tambuwal are back in the party. God will guide him aright, he should not take any decision in anger,”
