Akpabio’s kinsmen celebrate Governor Emmanuel’s victory
…Says no man can play God
The Stakeholders of Essien Udim Local Government Area, the local government of former Senate Minority leader Godswill Obot Akpabio, have lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel’s landslide victory at the 2019 Governorship polls.
The stakeholders, who gathered recently in Ikot Ekpene at the instance of the political leader of Essien Udim, Chief Michael Afangideh, thanked the people of the area, whom, according to them, dared “the bullet of the opposition” to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and all its candidates.
Chief Afangideh expressed happiness that the people of Essien Udim were able to prove to the world that they were truthful and honest people “and that we keep to our words. In all things, let no man play God.”
Also speaking, a former Commissioner in the erstwhile Cross River State, Chief Emmanuel Umana, added that the victory at the 2019 polls could only be attributed to God and the steadfastness of the people of the area to PDP and Governor Emmanuel.
The Commissioner for Industry, Commerce and Investment, Prince Ukpong Akpabio, who also attended the event, said “2019 elections will remain a big lesson for the people of Essien Udim vis-à-vis Akwa Ibom,” adding that they will be rewarded for their commitment and dedication to the party and the Governor.
He further explained that God was in-charge of the pending issue surrounding the non-issuance of Certificate of Return to Barrister Esse Umoh, winner of the Essien Udim State Constituency seat.
Prince Akpabio expressed happiness that Essien Udim was part of the success story of the 2019 elections in Akwa Ibom State.
Others, who spoke at the meeting, including the Essien Udim PDP Chapter Chairman, Hon. Cyril Udoh; Barrister Esse Umoh; Barr Martin Umana, thanked the people of the area for the support and contribution to the victory of PDP and Governor Emmanuel, expressing optimism that the brighter days await the good people of Essien Udim with Gov Udom Emmanuel as the Leader in the next four years.
The meeting was attended by the who’s who in Essien Udim including the State Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Sunyiekekere Inokon; Local Government Council Chairman, Elder Raphael Isobara; Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Comrade Martins Inyangetoh; Barr Imowo Okpokpo; Sir Udo Isobara; Barrister Maurice Udoka, and John Ekanem among others.
