APC chieftain blast Nsima Ekere, Akpabio, others
By Imaobong Udo,
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State has blasted the Governorship candidate of the APC in the just concluded Governorship election in the State, Obong Nsima Ekere for what he described as an attempt to destabilized and destroyed the APC in Akwa Ibom State.
In a chat with Nigeria Today, the APC chieftain alleged that agent of Nsima Ekere were going round harrasing APC supporters who according to them failed to deliver their units during the just concluded general election.
He noted that the attempt by those claiming to be agents of Nsima Ekere if left unchecked will destroyed the party in the State.
According to him, the so called agents were going round to retrieve ‘motivations’ given by Nsima Ekere on behalf of the party to party faithfuls to assist them in mobilizing support for the APC.
He accused former Senate Minority leader, Godswill Akpabio and Obong Umana Okon Umana for not calling Obong Nsima Ekere to order.
He maintained that their continued silence was an indication that the duo were in support of the actions of Obong Nsima Ekere.
He urges the National leadership of the party to quickly intervene and save Akwa Ibom APC from total collapse.
“When Obong Umana Okon Umana loses the 2015 election, knowing the rhetoric of elections, he invited most of us and we seat in a round table, discussed about the election and finally agree to go to the tribunal
“We didn’t win at the tribunal, but Umana was a leader, who brought all of us together, thanked us for our efforts and advised us to remain and work for the APC
“Fast forward to 2019, Nsima loses the election, the party structure has not been fully briefed on the way forward. But there are so many people who are harrasing and intimidating party faithful who according to them were given gift but were not able to deliver the party in the just concluded election.
“This is not fair on the party, we did our best, we should be planning ahead instead of this fear parade.
“I wish the national leadership of our party can immediately come and rescue the party from Nsima Ekere, this is unbecoming of a man who would have been our governor”
