The Member-Elect for Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency in the soon to be inaugurated 9th National Assembly, Mr. Unyime Idem, has predicted better days for Nigerians. He dropped this hint to journalists at the International Conference Centre Abuja during the presentation of Certificates of Return to elected lawmakers by INEC.
Speaking on behalf of members of the House of Representatives, Mr. Idem reiterated his commitment to partner the Federal government and contribute his quota to the development of Nigeria through formulation of quality laws for the peace, progress, prosperity and good governance of the nation. He also said he will ensure youths in his constituency will be empowered to be self-sufficient and wealth creators.
“Let me thank God specially for this singular honour to be elected to represent my people. I wish to thank the people of Ukanafun/Oruk Anam for the mandate given me to be their representative. It is the dawn of a new beginning as our people will henceforth experience a change in governance narratives and representation. I want to say that right from the floor of the House, there will be effective representation for the good of the people. I will collaborate with the federal government to formulate policies that will bring about good economic fortunes for this country, political inclusion and good governance and promotion of the welfare of the people. Back home, I will empower my constituents such that every youth becomes self-reliant, independent and have visible means of livelihood. I will ensure that the youths are provided a platform to become job and wealth creators. Never again will our people taste bad leadership and mis-representation as they have experienced in the last 8 years. It is going to be a win-win situation for everybody. By God’s grace, it is the dawn of a new day even as I see better days ahead”
