The Paramount Ruler of Eket, HRM Edidem E. C. D. Abia has attributed the electoral victory of Governor Udom Emmanuel to a number of factors which includes his broad base achievements and his strong faith in God, saying the victory did not come as a surprise.
Speaking with newsmen in his Attan Palace in Eket on Wednesday, the royal father said that the Governor, despite the hurdles he faced from the inception of his administration, took the entire State as a construction site, spreading infrastructure development to all parts of the State, a situation which earned him support and goodwill from the people.
Edidem Abia, a First Class Monarch in Nigeria said that the Governor was able to prudently manage the lean resources accrued to the State for the development of all sectors of economy while focusing on industrialization.
He congratulated the Governor on his victory and commended the people of the State for their believe in the abilities to the State Chief Executive, adding that above all, the victory should be dedicated to God who abhors injustice.
“The law of equity and justice was in favour of Governor Emmanuel during the electoral battle because based on his performance, he is entitled to complete his constitutional two terms as has been the precedence over the years”, he said.
The royal father however called on Akwaibomites to rally support on the Governor within the next four years as he was sure that the Governor will surely justify the mandate handed over to him as a social contract.
“I am very optimistic that with Governor Emmanuel’s quest and rapid drive for Industrialization, Akwa Ibom State will soon become a hob and commercial destination in Nigeria”
“I therefore call on the people of the State and youths in particular to equip themselves with relevant skills ahead of the emerging industrial revolution which is about engulfing the land of promise”, Edidem Abia said.
He commended the State Governor for the establishment of a technical skill acquisition center at Mkpat Enin Local Government Area as a prelude and manpower production incubator to the numerous industries that will soon be added to the existing ones.
