By Idris Kelani, Uyo
Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, and member elect Etinan Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Onofiok Luke has predicted massive victory for the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Saturday March 9th governorship election in Akwa Ibom State.
Luke made the prediction in a live programme on Comfort FM 95.1, a radio station in Akwa Ibom State.
According to him, the PDP was on ground and was working to ensure that the party emerges victorious on the upcoming March 9th governorship and house of Assembly election.
He noted that the party was not carried away on the massive victory the party recorded in the just concluded National Assembly elections.
“Our party the PDP can never be carried away by the massive victory we recorded in the just concluded National Assembly elections” he noted
“We have activated processes to continue to sensitise Akwa Ibom people on the need to come out next Saturday and vote for Governor Udom Emmanuel and all the candidates contesting for House of Assembly seats.
“It is an incontrovertible fact that Governor Udom Emmanuel holds the key to the higher level of possibilities that our state Akwa Ibom must unlock in all sectors of our Economy.
“So I am using this platform to urge every Akwa Ibom person to come out on Saturday and vote for Governor Udom Emmanuel and the PDP.
“My prediction for March 9 is that Governor Udom Emmanuel and candidate of the PDP will get the mandate of Akwa Ibom people to govern this state for another four years, next Saturday.
“This is because the vision that he has for Akwa Ibom State is in sync with the visions of the founding fathers of this state. In the past three years and some months, Governor Emmanuel has constructed solid pillars in critical sectors of our state’s economy that he will build on once he wins a second term next Saturday.
“The victory that the people of Etinan Federal Constituency gave to me in the just concluded elections is a humbling one. Humbling because I clearly understand that my people by giving me that mandate freely are investing hopes and expectations in me.
“And by the Special grace of God Almighty, I will strive to channel my efforts and the strength that God will furnish me with in trying to make good that trust.”
