Senator Godswill Akpabio, the outgoing senator representing Akwa Ibom North West senatorial district, has asked Obong Bassey Albert Akpan to withdraw a petition against him in the senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Addressing a world press conference in Uyo on behalf of Senator Akpabio, his kinsmen led by Arc Ubokutom Nya stressed that the former minority leader of the senate remains a pride to Essien Udim Local Government Area and a priced property of Akwa Ibom state.
“We hereby caution him to use his head and immediately withdraw his sponsored petition against senator Akpabio”
According to the team of elders and stakeholders of All Progressives Congress, Essien Udim chapter, Senator Akpabio is a leader, nationalist and a man of peace but regretted how monetary inducement has blurred the sight of most Akwa Ibom elders including some from Essien Udim Local government area.
“We must commend Senator Akpabio for his peaceful disposition and insistence on following the due process of the law. APC members should remain calm and law abiding while pursuing their legitimate claims at the courts”
Meanwhile a former member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and APC candidate for Essien Udim state constituency in the March 9th 2019 election, Hon Nse Ntuen has denied allegation that he led the gang that beat up the PDP chapter chairman during the elections.
He described himself as a man of peace who has played active role in the political development of the area in the last 20 years without the help and support of political thugs.
“I am one politician in Essien Udim that does not have thugs or boys. That Should not make anybody attempt to cheat me because I will not accept it. Even at the highest provocation I maintained my calm and let me say it here that it is part of their propaganda to bury APC in this state but it won’t work because we are more popular in the state” he revealed.
