Ajimobi Will Contest Senatorial Seat In 2019 – Aide
The Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi , has revealed his plans to run for senatorial seat in 2019. Dr . Morounkola Thomas, his Executive Assistant on Political Matters confirmed the claim.
Thomas revealed that Ajimobi is being encouraged by other political parties because of his experience which they believe will give them quality representation. According to Thomas, the people also believe and trust Ajimobi.
During a chat with the press on Sunday, Thomas said: “It is those outside politics that are urging him to run. He has been there previously and we require experienced individuals to give us quality portrayal.
“ We require individuals we can trust , not individuals who will sell out Oyo State and the South – West ‘s enthusiasm for an untidy pot of porridge . We know the individuals who sold out us for insignificant Senate panel position .”
In his comments, a governorship candidate in Oyo State , Chief Adeniyi Akintola (SAN ), urged applicants contesting for any political office to pay their levy in legislative issues .
He said , ” In the camp of the progressives , you need to pay your duty and go through the political tutelage .
