General T. Y Danjuma Donates Health Facility To Taraba Community
Takun Local Government area of Taraba State received Christmas gift from General T. Y. Danjuma yesterday.
A modern Health Facility was commissioned by General Danjuma. The facility is named ‘Rufkatu Danjuuma Maternity’. According to Danjuma, this is to check mate the rate of mortality among pregnant woman in the community and the prevalence of children.
Danjuma said the news of World Health Organization, WHO who reported that at least 140 women and 2, 000 children less than five years old die daily in Nigeria brought tears to his face and made him decide to make a change in the report in his own little way.
He said the facility will provide the community with needed services and described it as a “state-of-the-art modern facility, sustainable and specialized mother and child facility aimed at providing enhanced maternal and perinatal healthcare services.”
He further urged the people of the community to make good use of the opportunity to go to the hospital for treatment. The project is in partnership with his Charity foundation, Danjuma foundation and State government who will be managing the facility together.
Speaking at the event, Danjuma said “According to WHO, 140 women and 2000 children who are less than five years old die daily in Nigeria. This is not only alarming but also totally unacceptable. It was as a result of this development that I took the initiative to put this facility in place to contribute my quota in checking this ugly trend.
“I therefore urge all our people to take advantage of this facility to prevent unnecessary deaths and illnesses among women and children.”
