Reports claim Trump referred to Buhari as “lifeless” after White House meeting
A report by global business newspaper Financial Times, has indicated that United States President Donald Trump had described his meeting with Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari as ‘lifeless’ and would not wish for such meetings again.
The White House meeting which was at the instance of the American president saw both leaders hold bilateral discussions with Trump accusing Nigeria of having a reputation for very massive corruption. He said however that he knows that the President has been able to cut that down very substantially.
The paper quoted three sources familiar with the incident, which it claimed occurred at a private meeting on January 12.
There has been no reaction to the matter from both the United States and Nigerian governments.
