Police alert; Nigerian football viewing centres at risk of terrorist attacks
The Nigeria Police and the Nigeria Immigration Service NIS has issued warnings of likely terrorists’ attacks on football viewing centres across the country.
Consequently, the Nigeria Police has given directives to all its state commands to ensure intense patrols across viewing centres in their commands. The Nigeria Immigration Service on its parts has directed its personnel especially command heads to ensure the safety of its properties from any forms of security breach.
Nigeria had in the past witnessed cases of viewing centre attacks. Twenty one people were killed in a viewing centre bomb attack in 2014 in Damatutu the Yobe state capital while watching a World Cup match.
