Senate orders Buhari to sack Magu
The senate today called on President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Ibrahim Magu. It threatened not to attend to nominations from the Presidency if the president does not comply.
Sabi Abdullahi, the senate’s spokesperson said the lawmakers required clarity on its power of confirmation of nominees to the boards of commissions, and until that is resolved, the rift between it and the executive will linger.
He said the lawmakers would not jettison its earlier position on Magu.
