Ambode woes grows as Hamzat steps down for Sanwo-Olu
The battle for the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship ticket of Lagos state has taken another twist as a frontline candidate for the party’s ticket Dr. Femi Hamzat steps down to join forces with Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Sanwo-Olu who has been tipped by top party leaders to replace the Incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and fly the party flag in the upcoming election has been described by Hamzat as a man of impeccable character and integrity.
According to sources, there has been pressure from top party leaders, including a national leader of the party persuading the current governor of Lagos state to step down and support the preferred party candidate, Sanwo-Olu but Ambode has vowed to fight on.
Currently, Ambode’s camp are mobilizing voters and preparing to battle Tinubu and his men to save the All Progressive Congress (APC) from losing Lagos State. A member of his camp who spoke with Nigeria Today described Tinubu as a joker who was bent on destroying the APC and scuttled the 2019 ambition of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The source wondered why Tinubu was only interested in his personal ambition not the overall interest of Lagosian.
“We will defeat him and save our party, Ambode will not lose. Tinubu’s support would have been a good boost for him, but we will still win convincingly, he is not God”
