Please consider Ekere for appointment not Akpabio, APC Chieftain begs Buhari
A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to Consider the All Progressive Congress (APC) Governorship candidate, Obong Nsima Ekere for Ministerial appointment not Godswill Obot Akpabio.
The APC Chieftain who spoke with Nigeria Today on condition of anonymity disclosed that Obong Nsima Ekere has made huge investment to build the structure of the APC in Akwa Ibom State.
According to the Chieftain, Ekere’s investment and leadership made the party in the State to be attractive and was well positioned to win the Governorship election until Senator Akpabio decamped to destroyed the Fortune of the party.
The Chieftain disclosed that he had warned the National Working Committee of the Party against accepting Akpabio into the Party.
“When the news came to us, I called the National Chairman and warn him against accepting Godswill Akpabio into the APC family but he was adamant” He noted.
The Chieftain noted that the defeat of the APC in the State was due to Akpabio’s defection who he accused of hoarding most of the campaign funds released by the Presidency to prosecute the election.
“Obong Nsima Ekere spent so much money on this election, from building the party in the polling units level, ward level, Local government level, to the State level, he initiated the empowerment of the Local government chapters with buses.
“Akpabio on the other hand has done nothing to the party, apart from dancing and abusing people during the campaign.
“As an individual, Obong Nsima Ekere has a wealth of knowledge both in private and public service to contribute to the National Executive Council” the chieftain added.
The APC chieftain further stated that a Ministerial appointment given to Obong Nsima Ekere would be a plus for the APC structure at the grassroot, Akwa Ibom State and the entire South South.
